Advanced Photography Course 2016 – Essay
Anika Hörberg on her work: "When you are out and about in Ulm, you are surrounded by plenty of water, historic buildings and modern architecture, among other things. In the photo essay "The Mirror Image of Ulm", I show the city from a perspective that each of us sees but does not consciously perceive. Through reflections, Ulm mirrors itself and shows itself again and again from different angles. The interplay of light and reflective surfaces creates several image layers, which I capture in my photos. My aim with the essay is to present different levels in one image, so that an image within an image is created. The photographs are an interplay of real image content and reflections that offer the opportunity to see the photo as a whole composition or to discover the individual details."
