Interaction Design 2020
Challenge: Prototypical development of an application that allows the automated cultivation of crops in the university building and offers a special interaction in the room. The user is to be relieved of time-consuming work steps, taught how to handle plants and the maturing plants are to be made available for use.
Solution approach: A vertical hydroponic system in which the plants are fed purely by liquid in a PVC pipe tower attached to a wooden base. The system is operated via a touch display, which also provides important information. The technical setup is carried out using a Raspberry Pi and an Arduino mini computer, to which pumps and sensors are connected. The software is implemented via Html5, JavaScript and php applications, which are installed on the Raspberry Pi.
