For me, freedom always includes the counter-concept of lack of freedom. Freedom is a subjective perception. Throughout their lives, people run the risk of feeling restricted by external and internal factors. The beetle in my movie is free in its world because it can rise above the treetops. But this feeling of freedom is threatened every minute of his life. The beetle fails because of its own physical conditions, it is limited by its lack of wing strength. It is so small that it is easy to catch and imprison it. His freedom is shrinking by the second. It is completely lost when he is transformed from a living being into a drawing on a sheet of paper.
